On the day of Thanksgiving we headed down to Huntington early so that Nate could participate in the Turkey Bowl and the women could get started on the cooking. And to socialize of course! That left us with 9 kids 8 and under who wanted to be entertained. Luckily it turned out to be the one nice day all week! DeNae had some friends down from DC, Matt and Eva. Matt rigged some ropes up on the hillside and set the kids to climbing and repelling, it was AWESOME!! It kept them entertained forever and they had a BLAST. They raced each other and Matt and loved every minute of it. It was so nice to have them out of our hair while we worked in the kitchen!

Gabby was pretty good at it, even though she wasn't really wearing shoes for it!

Luke enjoyed being the oldest and tallest and almost beat his dad in a race!

We had 14 adults and 10 kids, which made for a pretty big table! And yes the food was as tasty as it looks! Chisa had her mom here, who is from Japan but is currently serving a mission at the family history center in SLC. They made FABULOUS homemade pot stickers, really I don't think I can eat the other ones now! We had my favorite sweet potato pie, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans and green bean casserole, corn, fruit, veggies, rainbow jello, deviled eggs, rolls, raspberry ribbon salad, and of course turkey. It was amazing!

And of course pies! Tia made all the pies again this year. We had pumpkin, french silk, lemon, banana cream, apple, and blueberry.

Eva and Jody helping Tia get the pies all cut up.

Chisa and Gordon.

It was a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with great food and great friends!

Looks like wonderful celebrations
That seems about right with our Thanksgiving also, more desserts than food almost. That is my favorite kind of meal, a good selection of dessert. Tia sure outdid herself making all of those desserts by herself. Looks like you were surrounded by good company. I'm glad you are being taken care of out there.
