October was a lot of fun, and it helps that it is my favorite time of year! One of the really neat things that happened this October was having the kids be a part of a special celebration for the Historic Kirtland church history site. Elder Ballard, from our church leadership, came out for the celebration and our stake conference and the kids all got to meet him and shake his hand after they sang for him :)!

Luke meeting Elder Ballard :); he actually got to meet him a few times. They had a special morningside at the Kirtland Temple for all youth age 11-18, having just turned 11, Luke got to go!! He said it was a really cool experience.
Later in the month we made caramel apples for FHE. This was so much fun! I LOVE caramel apples, and we it was very entertaining to watch everyone try to cover their apples and then get the candy to stay on too!
We learned a few things about how to do better next year, but they were still delicious and we had a great time together as a family doing it :). We will definitely be doing this again next year!!
