The Wedding!!

I am sooooo proud, excited and happy for my little sister!! On May 2nd she married a fabulous guy in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple!! It was a crazy day, not only was it raining, but we also had to get Tori ready for Prom that night!! But it was beautiful despite the rain and Tori was able to go to both events!! The point I was trying to get at was that because of the packed day and that I had to get myself and kids ready all by my self, I forgot my camera for the temple!! I was extremely sad, but my awesome sister in law had hers so I will get photos from her and post those later. After the ceremony we went to the luncheon, which was super nice!! They looked so happy and that is all that really matters!! The reception was equally as beautiful and I will have more pictures to post later, but I didn't want to over load this first one!! I am just so happy for them and happy to have been a part of it all!! Oriana and Travis, I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

Long Time....

I haven't posted for a few weeks due to the fact that we are in Utah for Oriana (my sister) and Travis' wedding. We fly home on Saturday and then I will be able to post all the pictures from our trip!! We have been having a really nice time even though two of the kids got sick and a cousin got lice!! (More details to follow!!) The wedding was beautiful, even though it rained, and they are happily married now!! I will finish the update later!! Congrats Oriana and Travis!!

Tostadas

One of my favorite meals as a child, and even still, is tostadas. (and by that I mean the way my family eats them which is apparently different then some of the rest of the world, but that is beside the point...) There are not that many things that Luke likes to eat, really there are about 7 things that he likes, luckily for me tostadas is one of them. And he REALLY likes them, I usually eat about 2, Luke usually has 3 or 4. So naturally he was excited about having them tonight, he helped get everything ready and helped set the table and then sat very patiently as I was getting everything onto the table. We started eating and when he started onto his third one he looks up at Nate and me and says very matter of factly, "On the last day that I am alive I want to eat tostadas for breakfast, lunch and dinner!" I wasn't sure I had heard him right so I asked what he said and sure enough he repeated it the same. So I asked how he would know the last day he was alive and he says, " You know, when I am really old, like a hundred that is when I will know it is the last day I will be alive." Ok. There you have it. Now when Luke turns 100 I want someone out there to make sure he has his dentures securely in so that he can eat his tostadas for three meals that day!!!

Easter Bunny

The Easter Bunny comes to our house on Saturday so that we can separate him from the true meaning of Easter. This year the Easter Bunny actually brought something for mom and dad too.... a super cute little Lily Bug!!!! We got her up and went to get breakfast ready. When we came back we found her just sitting in the basket playing contently with her toys! I love it! Then of course Gabby wanted to get in on the action so she and Luke emptied the diaper box and stuffed her in.

Luke got a parachuting Donald Duck from the Easter Bunny and had great fun throwing him off our front porch. Who knew it would be such a big hit?!

Easter, part 2

These are the picture from the egg hunt in the back yard. The kids had soooo much fun running around looking for the eggs. Lily thought it was even more fun to just throw the eggs against the house or eachother to hear them crack. It was funny to watch her sneak up behind her siblings and steel their eggs after they found them just to run off and smash them!!

Easter, part 1

Easter is one of my favorite times of the year. I love how everything just seems to speak of the wonderful nature of the holiday. We celebrate the resurrection of our Savior and remember his atoning sacrifice made for each of us. I love how life seems to be breathed back into the world during this time. I also love that we get to spend time together as a family and share all this with each other. It has been hard being away from family during holidays like this when I know we are missing out on so many fun traditions, but I love that we are able to carry on some of our own. I carried on a tradition that used to be a part of my childhood... matching clothes for Sunday!! I found this fabric last year and have been waiting to make these dresses for my girls! Gabby loves hers and couldn't wait to wear it, mainly because it spins, wiggles and has "puffy" stuff coming out the bottom of it! (all things she requires in a dress or skirt to make it beautiful) Other traditions we carried on were doing an egg hunt out back (pictures will follow later...), getting together with family and friends for dinner (in our case friends that substitute for family), and the egg wars. It was a fun and beautiful day, even if it was a little chilly!! We took this family picture right before we left for church, still early in the morning and cool out. Lily did NOT want to sit still for it, but it turned out ok. (Gabby slept with sponge curlers because she wanted her hair to look like Lily's!! SO cute!)This is my handsome little man! I can't believe he will turn seven this year!! Note the scratch on his cheek... courtesy of his little sister Lily - she is a scratcher!Gabby wouldn't look at the camera for some reason so Nate had to try and bribe her to look at me, then she just gave us this courtesy smile. Oh well I still think she is a doll. I don't have a picture of Lily in her dress because she fell asleep on the drive home from church and then we took the dress of for her to eat. Oh well..My two boys, I can't even express how much I love them!!! (Does anyone else see the striking resemblance?!)

Spring Break

Last week was a wonderful week full of all kinds of fun and relaxation. Nate had the entire week off for spring break!! We spent the first day off in the Charleston, Teays Valley and Huntington area trying to find rental places for next year. We had very little success, but we got to eat at Olive Garden!!! (Yum!!) I also got to go to Boarders, I LOVE books stores!!!! (And Nate got me two new books!!) The kids HATED the car by the end of it, but it was a good trip. At least now we have some sort of idea of where we will be next year. Then Monday night we decided to have a camp out in our back yard! It was great, Nate set the tent up and got the sleeping bags all rolled out. He even got a little space heater for the kids as it was still in the 30's at night. Lily only lasted until 2am and Nate graciously took her inside and stayed in there with her the rest of the night. (a.k.a he wimped out and left the rest of us out there to FREEZE!!!! Thanks love... :)) Luke, Gabby and I actually had a really fun time out there! We had to wake Luke up so he would be on time to school. (Unfortunately Luke was still in school.) Nate and I had a "Heroes" marathon too. We just got into the series so we were able to finish season 1 and start 2, it was great! Sometimes there is just something so nice about sitting around doing nothing ALL day!! We got to go to the movies, play outside, go play rock band with friends, have dinner with friends and just enjoy each other. The kids have been so sad that it was only one week long, but they will survive. Thanks Nate for all the fun and for taking care of everything when I had my upper GI scope! You are the best!!
