We waited until the Monday before Halloween to carve our pumpkins because in this humid part of the country they grow mold after about 30 seconds!! OK, that is a SLIGHT exaggeration, but you get the picture. Luke was actually really daring this year and wanted to get the "guts" out, but Gabby was not so excited about the slimy inerts of the pumpkins. We had a little race to see who could get their pumpkin done first, the boys against the girls... the girls won!! (Although it wasn't really fair because Nate had to carve all those little skinny legs for the spider, but don't tell him I said that :)!) It was a really fun family activity, and we were glad dad could take time out of his studying to do this with us.
